I have just sat my v2 - v3 managers bridge and have a wanted to clarify my understanding of Retiring a Service from the Service Portfolio.
It makes sense to me that Service Transition would need to be included in this I.e. Change and Release. In order to ensure all Kit, documentation etc is taken into account, and that no other systems are impacted by retiring this service from operation.
However is this the Utopia that ITIL is after or have I missed some major point.
p.s. I have not got access to the V3 suite of books and have not found a true process on retiring a service from the training guides or the WWW as yet.
