ITIL V2 Managers Exams - How quickly can I re-take?

Hi All,

First post by the way so go easy on me ;-)

I'm due to take my V2 managers exams shortly and though I'm fairly confident of success, I want to clarify how quickly I can retake if things don't go to plan.

A colleague tells me that you're not allowed to retake for a year. I don't believe him! Please tell me he's wrong.

The cost situation is also interesting; to take the exams again do you have to fork out the whole course fee?

Firstly, prevention is better than cure.

If you do loads of practice exam questions under exam conditions and consistently score well (>14), then you cannot fail unless you freak out on the day. Try to do >4 exam questions for each process area.

Anyway, to answer your question, I'm not aware of any issue in resitting except that it would be a few months later with a new case study, new questions. LizG - can you pls clarify?

if you take the exam in january and fail, you can take the next exam

providing on the following

1 - you get you score in time (fail) before the sitting date of the next exams
2 - there are seats available

1. You can resit one or both ecxams as soon as you know that you have failed.
2. You do not need to resit the course - just pay the exam fee (it used to be about £135 per exam)
3. There are not going to be public quarterly exams any more - so you need to have your training organisation arrange an exam on demand, or contact the examination institute (ISEB/EXIN etc ) to see what arrangements can be made.
4 Exams will soon be restricted to resits only soon, no new candidates.

Hi All,

Thanks for the advice - exactly the answers I was hoping.

Tom - Good tip; I already have a few exam questions lined up but I'll be doing more now.

Obviously you're right, prevention is the key, though the main reason I wanted to get this clear was because of strange myths doing the rounds at my place of work!!

Timresh,

It's good to be worried, as its the managers exams one of those "Big Boys" we all were when we had it. Just stop thinking about failing, cause if you do then you will start slacking. As Tom said, prevention is better than cure (not for Pharmacologists though) :lol:
