Hi all, I'm very new to ITIL and from my so far self training one question created:

Functions are logical grouping of roles (resources) which do a specific job within the organization. Why during my so far training I see functions related to the Service Operation volume?

Aren't there functions related to the other volumes as well, like Strategy or design? Why the only mentioned functions are the Service Desk, the Application Mgt, the IT Control Mgt and the Technical Mgt?

Any clarification is more than appreciated.

Thank you

Where in your ITIL Training did you get the concept of Function ?

Where in that area did these show up and was there a definition associated

Service Desk, the Application Mgt, the IT Control Mgt and the Technical Mgt
