We have a situation where we need to take our system down to implement some data loads that must be done when no user can log on. This will take bout 12 hours.

In preparation for this we need to load data for the previous 5 days.

I am unsure if i should create the release for just the activity of the syatem being down or for the whole period.

In my mind it says just for the period of the downtime and activities as the pre loading is just something we are doing to reduce the downtime and has no impact.

Especially when daily loads are happeneing all the time

anyone can answer this?

First, does the system that is going down have a defined service for the users /

is there a maintenance window etc

As for the work - the release is the data load set - even if the data load is over multiple days

that is how I would work

however, it all depends onyour own processes, policies and procedures
