If a Change Request is presented at CAB and there is action that needs to be complete before Approval can be granted, can conditional approval be granted?

Otherwise an Emergency Change would be needed if a major Change is to be implemented before before the following CAB.

For example, a Major Change Request is presented at CAB, however there are 2 UAT test cases remaining to be completed. Can this be Conditionally Approved based on the remaining UAT test completion. Or must it be Rejected and an Emergency change created if it is to be implemented before the next CAB?

Thank you.

It depends

It depends on the policy of the CM process

Some would require all testing to be completed before bringing the change to the CAB

Some would allow critical changes to fix an oiperation issue - high priority -level 1 - to be brought to the CAB whilst solution testing is still going on

if the CM policy allows that then yes conditional approval could be used

Agreed, I tend to conditionally approved changes if CAB are happy with the details technically. It could be waiting on things like customer approval etc..
