Anyone here who can give me some idea regarding controlled and uncontrolled documents (in document control)?
I have a little knowledge about this and I think there are a lot of IT professionals in this forum who are capable of providing me the answers. TY
Controlled documents versus uncontrolled documents
Well if an org has a document management policy and a document editing / building policy, then you would have controlled document management
it is basically a workflow to
write a draft (author)
get it reviewed (reviewer(s)
get it published (publisher)
then when ever there are updates - the document is versioned (number & date)
1.0; 1.1

I have also read the controlled documents in ETQ (first paragraph). Whew, no doubt newbies like me will get confused with this term. Anyway, thanks for your help!UKVIKING wrote:Well if an org has a document management policy and a document editing / building policy, then you would have controlled document management
