Measuring cost of a service

Hi everyone,

I have recently become the CSI manager for a technology company and I was putting together documentation for the CSF's and KPI's of the CSI process. While doing research, I found that 1 of the 3 CSF's which the CSI book recommends is: "The cost of providing services is reduced".

The problem is that before being able to know that the cost of providing a service is being reduced, one would need to measure the cost of that service.

Does anyone know of any software that aids in the cost calculation of services?

OR Could anyone share how they handle this in their organisation? Maybe this could also apply for us..
