Evening all,
I completed my ITIL Foundation certification around two years ago and I think it's time for me to get pushing on ITIL Expert. I've heard that version 4 is on the way, is it worth me waiting or cracking on?
ITIL Expert
AXELOS will continue to offer the ITIL v3 curriculum through (at least) mid-2020. The recommendation from them is that if you are well on your way to ITIL Expert is to continue along the ITIL v3 path until you earned 17 points - then complete the ITIL 4 Managing Professional (MP) bridge.’
Given that you have your ITIL v3 Foundation, you would need to earn another 15 points (4 or 5 certifications) over the next 12-14 months to get to the point of attempting the MP bridge.
The question that I would have is what is your business driver/career driver to getting to ITIL v3 Expert? Depending on your answer, it may be better to wait, or it may make sense to continue on the V3 Expert path. I will watch for your response.
